Zippered pouch and 1920's Clouche hat

Good afternoon everyone,

I've been wanting to make a zippered pouch for some time. I have one that I  bought from Avon years ago but it's not very big  .  So I found a video on Youtube by Melanie Ham  and followed along.   It took me some time to make it but I wanted to make sure I didn't make any big mistakes( made a couple small mistakes  but got them fixed) phew.  I have also taught myself how to crochet watching Youtube  videos it's fun and relaxing.    I have made several things like scarfs, hats,  coasters and some doll clothes. Here's a picture of the cloche  1920 style hat , like the ladies wear on Downtown Abby and a picture of the zippered pouch!

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate it!

Misti dust cover

Good evening everyone,

I'm back after being M.I.A  for awhile!  A couple of months ago I splurged and bought a Misti (most incredible stamping tool invented). I wasn't going to get one since is so expensive, but when she had a 10% off sale for Memorial weekend I decided to get one so far  I really like it !  One day I did some searching on Youtube and Etsy  on how to sew  a kindle dust cover ,but my idea was  to make  it bigger to fit the misti. The fabric I used is by Waverly it's a much heavier fabric then many of the fabrics sold on the market.  I have purchased the fabric a few years back on e-bay so I don't remember the name of the pattern.  Hope you like my creation!

And what ever you do in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him..

Hello

Good morning blog friends,

Today I have a card for the Mod Squad to use 3 colors from the color wheel and for Power Poppy to use pastels! So for my card I used the single rose from  Power Poppy Arranging roses digi stamp . I deleted the rest of the stamp because I just wanted this beautiful sweet rose by it self.  Colored it with copic markers then I used spellbinders resplendent rectangles die to cut my image! Also used spellbinders romantic rectangles 2, some faux pearls, sheer ribbon to soften the look a little ,designer paper in the background and used the sentiment from Dahlia stamp set from Flourishes(no longer available).
Have had a head cold for almost two weeks, but finally got rid of it thank God!  The weather here has been gorgeous today is supposed to be in the 70's so I need to get working in my flower beds!  Enjoying my last few days of medical since I have to go back to work after being off for almost three months! Feeling much better and stronger everyday thank you God!

I can do all things thru Christ which gives me strength! Philippians 4:13

Basket of flowers

Good morning everyone,

I have another card that I made the day before I went into the hospital. Wanted to keep busy making something that I love and of course I had to clean the house do the laundry make my husband his favorite dinner and dessert. Like any crazy housewife that wants to make sure everything is done . Lol
This card is for the Mod Squad to use flowers as your focal point!  What a coincidence that I happen to make a card with flowers on it, oh that's  right it's my favorite! lol
The stamp set that I used is Holiday basket illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger . Colored the flowers and basket with copic markers, dry embossed with Spellbinders Fancy lattice die, fussy cut two of the flower's and popped them up with 3- d dots for some dimension and I happen to find some burlap ribbon at Michaels that I used behind the basket.  Enjoy

Then I put some pink gingham ribbon for some more color.  It sure was cold outside again but at least the sun was out today. It sure felt good when you were in the car till you stepped outside. lol
More snow on the way this weekend. Come on Spring! I think we have 42 more days!

Mod Squad Challenge

Good afternoon everyone,

It's February and surprise over 12 inches of fresh snow on the ground! My mom always told me that February was one of those colder months that if we can make it thru it we can make it thru any month.
Super Bowl is over with now on to NASCAR the only bad part is that Jeff Gordon will only be racing part time.  When we used to go to the races I got a chance to see Jeff Gordon in person and I also got one of the stickers that came of his car when they  do  the qualifying it's hanging in the basement, too bad that I didn't get his autograph.
On to my card. For this Mod Squad challenge we had to make a card with an animal on it. The stamp I used is by Our Daily Bread Designs Quiet waters. Colored the image with copic markers, sponged some clouds and used some clear embossing powder for the water, then cut a border with my Spellbinders marvelous square die to make it look like a window picture. Easy peasy!

Crochet retro coasters

Good afternoon everyone,

Today I'm sharing the 2014 pay it forward gift . I though myself how to crochet in 2013 by watching YouTube videos it was a work in progress but don't give up. I made a scarf, a hat , doll clothes  and some other stuff.  I did get some  help from my friend/ co-worker  Agnes and friend Karen from our church . When I got a little better at it I found a pattern on Pinterest for these beautiful crochet coasters, so I had to make some for the pay it forward gift. I made them in several colors with simply soft yarn. Here's the link to the pattern https://web.archive.org/web/20140528032039/http:/crochet.about.com/od/vintage/ss/aa052606.htm

Enjoy!!!

Happy Lords day everyone

Had a great Christmas with my family and my husband family ! It was really  crazy at work before Christmas with all the party trays, but with God's help  we made through! Happy New year to everyone also!  So I decided to post my card that I made last week for Power poppy peep of the week challenge! Therefore if any man be in Christ,
 he is a new creation:
 old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.
